A thought crosses Jim's mind and he has to suck in a breath lest he swear at himself. Loki knows the truth and Loki is Thor's brother. There is no real reason aside from Jim's own discomfort at mentioning it that should stop him form being entirely honest with Thor. The longer he drags this out the more they will have to tiptoe around each other and if there's one thing that grates on Jim's every last nerve it's to have someone walk on eggshells around him.
(Even if the reason they're doing it is his fault.)
