It's not that Peter is way too easy to impress (though he is, let's be honest) but the prospect of free food and/or drink has his mouth dropping open with very childlike wonder. There's a very quick and very grateful thanks being offered before he settles back in his seat and studies the plate of fruit carefully.
Plucks one of the cherries up between his fingers.
"They can? I've never tried." He's never had a cherry in his life that didn't come out of a can or packed in syrup for that matter. "You have to do it all in your mouth then?"
